DCSA's Security Operations & Oversight looking for a Supervisory Security Specialist to supervise the Regional Security Managers within the Field Mission Support by conducting operations associated with the various internal agency security programs and make critical security decisions in support of the DCSA Security Programs Office. Duties

As a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:

Requirements

  • Telework Eligibility: This position is telework eligible, but is not a full time telework position. The incumbent will be required to report to the office on a routine basis.

Qualifications

See: General Schedule Qualification Standards (opm.gov) i.e. for OPM qualification standards, competencies and specialized experience needed to perform the duties of the position as described in the MAJOR DUTIES and QUALIFICATIONS sections of this announcement by Close Date Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Applying a wide range of security, technical and functional area knowledge to threat-unique mission security problems not covered by application of standard guidance or practices; Providing multi-functional security advice and support for the specialized areas of emphasis to include personnel, operations, industrial, and information security. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: ??????? Problem Solving- Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Customer Service-Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Information Security- Apply knowledge of policies, procedures, and requirements established under appropriate authorities to protect information that, if subjected to unauthorized disclosure could reasonably be expected to cause damage to national security. Personnel Security-Apply personnel security principles and methods to process initial investigations, clearances, periodic re-investigations, and clearance upgrades/downgrades, suspension, revocations, Security Education and Awareness-Develops, administers, and maintains curricula and materials on the full range of security principles and practices. Conducts and tracks security and counterintelligence awareness briefings and debriefings.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
