About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Walker VA. This is a Planned Management Action open to Current Civilian Employees of the Organization. Consideration will also be given to current Army employees with competitive status.

Duties

Serves as Director of a Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) overseeing all phases of the organization's program and work. Exercises staff control and supervision, including contract oversight, budget execution, Program Objective Memorandum (POM) requirements, and coordination of support capability and capacity with designated sustainment organizations. Advises supervisor on problems involving the relationships of the work of the position to installation wide and broader programs and its impact on such programs and priorities. Directs all maintenance, supply, ammunition, food service, laundry, transportation, property accountability, clothing, and other related logistical activities. Responsible for contract oversight, budget execution, Program Objective Memorandum (POM) requirements, and coordination of support capability and capacity with designated sustainment organizations. Studies requirements for logistical support and briefs leadership on the impact on the organization.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Security Clearance.
  • Position may require travel more than 20% of the time.
  • This position is designated as Mission Essential.
  • This position is designated as a "Key” position. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impacting the organization to function effectively.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. One year of specialized experience which includes planning and directing supply and logistics programs, AND advising on policy and guidance, AND planning and directing logistical operations and maintaining appropriate accountability of property and necessary financial controls. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
