You will serves as a Financial Technician at the GG-09 grade level in the Resource Management Office at NAVIOCOM Georgia responsible for assisting with the management control and execution of financial and resource related functions

Duties

You will assist with account maintenance and accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine, verify, maintain, and reconcile accounts and accounting data. You will provide technical support for the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items which includes handling cash items or use of cash accountability control methods. You will examine documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, compliance with regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government. You will determine pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government. You will perform technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintain ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may require an initial and periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS Trial Period.
  • PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GG-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: Assisting with analyzing non-standard financial resource related processes to provide briefings to key personnel, senior planners and consultants. Assisting with examining financial documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, compliance with regulations for goods and services provided. Assisting with providing routine direction to leadership and personnel regarding financial procedural and technical information.
