Duties

You will monitor day-to-day classified and unclassified network operations of PMRF and all related computer systems and hardware for Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance and auditing. You will provide full server/system administrations on servers and other related computer systems as PMRF, including Linux server STIG configuration. You will work with supervisors and other personnel to plan, coordinate and exchange technical information and to share plans on work efforts and to find resolutions to problems. You will maintain system configurations as well as resolve hardware/software interface and/or interoperability problems, considering problems of compatibility, processing ease and speed, trends and development. You will perform risk assessments for hardware/software changes to determine how it would affect current system security posture.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 802, proficiency level Intermediate, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing automation systems hardware, software, networking and data communication technologies to identify issues and make recommendations for protection of the integrity and confidentiality of information technology systems and data. AND Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
