Salary: $143 736 - 186 854 per year

You will serve as the Associate Director in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Stennis Space Center (SSC), providing support to the SCC and the NSSC. You will partner to identify strategic organizational objectives, define technical work requirements and milestones, and evaluate the organization and employee accomplishments.

Duties

Collaborate on all aspects of office operations, IT management, and post Information Technology (IT) transformation efforts at NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) and Stennis Space Center (SSC). Build and maintain effective communication with all partners and cross functional teams to maximize customer experience. Contribute to planning, developing, and negotiating budget/resource allocations to ensure resources meet NSSC and SSC budget guidelines and IT requirements. Make technical decisions, consult on delivery of IT and information management services, ensure missions and objectives are met. Provide technical and administrative direction to employees (e.g. select employee, assign work, and recommend employee promotion to the supervisor).   • Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: Leading diverse teams and managing the planning and implementation of strategic objectives to support long-term mission plans for Information Technology programs and projects; Managing the delivery and integration of IT operations and service management to achieve the goals and objectives of an organization; Collaborating across organizational boundaries with all levels of management, other key Agency officials, and multi-disciplinary teams to achieve common goals and outcomes. AND IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
