OPIA's Planning, Performance Reporting, and Communications Branch is responsible for leading and coordinating a variety of mission-supporting functions, including strategic planning, performance assessment and reporting, and communications activities in support of the executive management of OPIA and its communications with the public.
Duties
The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.
This position is telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
GS-12 (The next lower grade level is GS-11):
Experience collaborating with subject matter experts to analyze data, create clear written communications, and advise on effective dissemination methods to enhance public understanding and maintain consistent messaging;
Experience planning, developing and editing written materials on international trade or intellectual property issues for a variety of audiences following a style guide, such as the Associated Press Stylebook, and proofing the work of others for grammatical errors; and
Experience using Plain Language/Writing in editing communications such as subscriber email alerts, blogs, articles, press releases, and webpages.
GS-13 (The next lower grade level is GS-12):
Utilize research methods to develop accurate information on agency programs, policies, and functions and to provide guidance on writing and editing policies to program and subject matter experts;
Experience collaborating with subject matter experts to analyze data, create clear written communications, and advise on effective dissemination methods to enhance public understanding and maintain consistent messaging;
Independently plans, develops, and edits written materials on international trade or intellectual property issues for a variety of audiences following a style guide, such as the Associated Press Stylebook, and proofing the work of others for grammatical errors; and
Expertise using Plain Language/Writing in editing communications such as subscriber email alerts, blogs, articles, press releases, and webpages.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at this grade level.
