This position leads and performs writing and editing assignments to prepare written materials that advance the internal communications goals of the OCCO via the intranet site (PTOWeb). The position also serves in the role of a Product Owner (PO) responsible for collaborating with IT specialists in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to ensure that new or enhanced intranet design features are developed and implemented to support the agency's internal communications needs

The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.
This position is eligible for maximum telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy.

You're ready to serve as the senior writer-editor responsible for writing, editing, and proofreading a variety of materials for the USPTO intranet designed to communicate information to USPTO employees about USPTO programs, initiatives, events, and other topics of interest to employees.

Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-12.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience acting as an IT product owner; planning and collaborating with developer and user experience/interface technical teams to ensure continuous development of IT tools, with an emphasis on implementing Drupal content management systems (CMS) and associated tools for an intranet.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
