About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to evaluate, install, maintain, diagnose, repair, calibrate, and test medical equipment/systems used in the medical treatment facility. The incumbent provides technical guidance, training and assistance to functional users and other technicians. This position is located at Fort Johnson, Louisiana.

Duties

Operate test and diagnostic equipment to verify equipment functionality. Ensure equipment compliance with standards, manufacturer’s literature, and/or regulatory guidance. Performs system backups to ensure expedient restoration of the data base for the respective network equipment. Utilizes qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to evaluate recurring issues or recommend improvements. Resolve intricate technical problems, making the appropriate on-site repairs. Install hardware and software for medical systems that are interoperable with hospital and patient data networks. Conduct preventive maintenance checks and services (PM) inspections of medical equipment to include visual inspections, operational checks, electrical safety inspections, calibration, and performance verification.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Up to 5% Business Travel required.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
