The Executive Assistant supports the Director and other Center for Women Veterans staff by providing programmatic and administrative support/services to fulfill the Center's Congressional mandates, including being the principal adviser on the adoption/implementation of policies and programs, promoting use of authorized benefits through outreach activities to increase awareness among women Veterans, and encourage women Veterans to choose VA to support their health, wellness, and Veteran journey.
Duties
Directly support the director and deputy director by providing administrative and clerical assistance to fulfill the Center’s mandates.
Assist with arranging conferences and meetings conducted for the Director and Deputy Director.
Office management and administrative support for the Center for Women Veterans’ staff and serve as a point of contact with staff on administrative matters.
Maintain workflow by working with program analyst and other staff to assure efficiency and timeliness of administrative functions.
Track incoming/outgoing mail and distribute to appropriate staff.
Read all incoming publications, regulations, and directives, which may be important to the activities of the Director or other Center staff. Refer those of importance or interest.
Receive all visitors and telephone calls to the Director/Deputy Director, determine the nature of the calls or business of the visitor, and refer the inquiry to the appropriate staff member for assistance.

Specialized Experience: To qualify for this position, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11) in the normal line of progression for the occupation of Executive Assistant. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves:1). Office management to include keeping schedules for leadership, arranging meetings, procuring supplies, and maintaining office inventory. 2). Arrange conferences and other events for leadership while providing logistical assistance including making travel arrangements, itineraries, and submitting travel vouchers. 3). Prepare correspondence, proofread, and ensure compliance with established policy. AND 4). Enter time and attendance data into an electronic system, and coordinate leave and other timekeeping issues.
Education
There is no educational substitution for the GS-12 level.
