This vacancy is for a Lead International Trade Specialist (Direct-Hire) in the International Trade Administration within the Department of Commerce.

Duties
As an Lead International Trade Specialist (Direct-Hire), you will perform the following duties:
Guides and assists a team of related industry analysts to enable the team as a whole to deliver improved quality, quantity and timely services and/or work products to their stakeholders; and to ensure that employees feel engaged and valued.
Participates in the work of the team and will synthesize team inputs to develop recommendations and plans to support the assigned sector and related industries in addressing market access barriers, improving international competitiveness, and unlocking global opportunities for U.S. businesses.
Provides information to the supervisor on performance of the team and individuals, recommends training for team members, approves routine time and attendance requests, and informs the supervisor of attendance or behavior problems.
Assures the work of their assigned team of industry analysts is carried out by performing a range of coordinating and supportive duties and responsibilities.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Lead International Trade Specialist (Direct-Hire) GS-1140-14 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify at the GS-14 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Assessing the impact of foreign government actions on the competitiveness of a U.S. industry; and
Providing analysis of trade industry; and
Assist in leading teams to deliver quality, and timely services and/or work products; and
Developing recommendations and providing status reports to leadership.
