About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Operations Division at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland.

Duties

Serve as the subject matter expert for the 302d Signal Battalion's Training Ammunition Program (TAP) Ensure proper procedures are followed for forecasting, requisitioning, accounting, turning in, training with, and securing ammunition. Develop and maintains inspection checklist Manage and coordinate all battalion training and administrative/management training programs for civilian and military personnel on the operational and management techniques of a variety of complex state-of-the-art communications and computer systems Develop teaching methods and coordinate proper timelines to improve unit's functional area weaknesses.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret clearance (ANACI).
  • Position may require up to 10% (TDY) travel.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by maintaining inspection checklist to ensure training programs meet stated objectives; analyzing data on current programs various communication systems to establish trends; forecasting training requirements; scheduling and coordinating training events; and assisting in the development and issuing of administrative instructions. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education and Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
