About the Position: The incumbent will serve as Deputy to the G5 Director of Strategy and Plans. The incumbent is expected to develop and carryout assignments using own initiative and independent judgment. The incumbent will plan and direct the comprehensive strategy and plans for HQ Surface Deployment and Distribution Command.

Duties

Perform strategic deployment and distribution transportation feasibility analysis. Assess readiness and conducts assessments for strategic programs. Authorize to make decisions, enter into agreements, and execute commitments. Provide guidance and assistance on G5 functions to subordinate commands. Develop policies, principles, programs, and plans for assigned functional areas. Provides technical direction and oversight for G5 programs. Interview and select candidates for vacant positions, promotions, or reassignments. Identify developmental and training needs and provides necessary development and training Hear and resolve serious employee complaints and grievances.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
  • This is a Critical Sensitive position requiring the incumbent to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET clearance based on a Tier 5 (T5) investigation with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
