You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT KEY WEST of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will explain safety and housekeeping rules to maintenance workers. You will use test equipment (e.g., multimeters, circuit tracers, voltmeters, clamp meters, fault locator devices) to detect malfunctions in systems or equipment. You will instruct trades and labor workers of technical principles, procedures, or standards required for safe operations. You will interpret instructions in a group setting to determine specific requirements for each team member.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE. 1) Providing journey level trade oversight to Electricians, Air-Conditioning Mechanics, Heating/Boiler Plant Equipment Mechanics, Industrial Equipment Mechanics, Electronics Mechanics, Sheet Metal Mechanics, or Welders; 2) Planning, laying out, and completing installation, modification, and repair of systems; and 3) Interpreting building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering documents, drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to plan work.
