About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Personnel Operations Division Readiness/Security Branch, Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

Duties

Interpreting regulations and other policy directives promulgated by Executive orders, Department of defense (DOD) directives and regulations. Participating in routine security inspections to ensure proper handling and storage of classified materials. Reviewing operations security procedures in order to deny adversaries information about facility capabilities. Identifying vulnerabilities, both actual physical security limitations and shortfalls within the execution of established command procedures and operations.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• May require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.
• May be required to work overtime/irregular schedules or extended hours due to exercises, national special security events, or during national security crises.
• Physical Exam may be required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-05). OR A Bachelor's Degree that is closely related to the position.
