This position is located within Network and Support Engineering (TENN), Systems Engineering (TEN), Engineering and Technical Services (TE), Transmission Services (T), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).
A successful candidate is responsible for producing detailed telecommunication circuit designs and technical leadership and construction support related to circuit design activities directly supporting the control and protection of the Bulk Electric System.
Duties
As a Telecommunication Specialist, you will:
Analyze proposed communication circuits on PRD (project requirements diagram) and provides creative solutions to mitigate potential errors and conflicts in infrastructure design and circuit routings.
Review and analyze data directly from telecommunications equipment for the purpose of updating project or system documentation.
Provide telecom circuit technical interpretation of project requirements to project staff regarding the development of work statements.
Develop advanced telecom circuit design strategies and methodologies, taking into account factors such as scalability, reliability, security, and performance optimization.
Write, update, implement, and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of Operational Telecom TDM and Ethernet services; provides technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical issues; is a voting member of small teams responsible for recommendations that significantly influence Operational policies or programs.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in 1) evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, or requirements that demonstrate knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology and 2) producing detailed telecommunication circuit designs and technical support related to circuit design activities directly supporting the control and protection of the Bulk Electric System.
