Duties
As a Public Affairs Specialist, you will:
Analyze PD&R's research program reports and findings, HUD's priorities, the information needs of HUD' s constituents, and the ways in which information can be effectively communicated to these constituents.
Develop content for a variety of audiences (including the general public, key HUD external stakeholders, internal partners, etc.) to support PD&R's communications and public relations functions.
Plan and implement conferences, meetings, events, expert convening, PD&R Quarterly Updates, the Innovative Housing Showcase, and other events-both in-person and virtual- that are designed to disseminate PD&R research, data, policy, and other information to HUD's customers.
Plan and execute social media campaigns, draft engaging content, and align the messaging with PD&R's brand and program goals.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-12 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Experience in the creation, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of an organization's communication program; AND
- Experience planning and coordinating events for an organization; AND
- Experience in developing, writing, and editing communication products for a variety of audiences (such as articles, speeches, social media content, or press releases).
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12 you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
