This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Data and Systems Group, Division of State Systems.
As a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST, GS-2210-15, you will serve as director responsible for planning and
coordinating the functions related to oversight and management of Medicaid State Systems, as well as integrated eligibility determination systems.
Duties
Monitor and oversee states' development and implementation of Medicaid Enterprise System (MES), contracts, and requests for proposals from states.
Serve as a role model for leadership, including coaching, mentoring, providing ongoing feedback to staff, and providing formal and informal learning opportunities.
Provide policy and operational guidance to states and staff in support of implementing Medicaid health care programs and operations.
Provide policy and operational guidance to states and staff in support of issuing and implementing State Medicaid Director and State Health Official letters to strengthen health information technology (IT) initiatives.
Analyze, monitor, and guide the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the MMIS operations and certification processes.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
Leading the coordination of Medicaid and CHIP technology funding regulations and sub-regulatory guidance related to the advance planning and certification process.
Managing all aspects of a project to include development of statement of work, budgets plans, activity reports, data analysis, etc. AND
Leading the development of standard operating procedures, and process improvements to make the organization more efficient. AND
Preparing written documents and presenting to diverse audiences, e.g., end users, senior leadership, and other non-technical audiences.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
