Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will use your knowledge of and experience with The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) to optimize business results and customer experience by: Serving as an expert technical advisor developing approaches and establishing specifications and security guidelines for information systems. Serving as senior subject matter expert in reviewing security vulnerabilities in information systems, performing analysis to understand security risks, and developing remediation plans to secure information systems. Serving as the subject matter expert in emerging technologies such as "cloud", "infrastructure as a service", "platform as a service" and "software as a service" and guiding architecture and development of information systems. Serving as a subject matter expert in transforming manual procedures into computer driven automated workflows that support well-designed business cases while ensuring strong security posture. Monitoring problem trends, synthesizing data and proposing proactive and well-researched actions to manage and secure information systems in an independent manner.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing at least ALL of the following: Experience with IT Security Certification and Accreditation processes, security risk assessments, implementation of IT security controls, countermeasures, IT network and endpoint monitoring technologies. Evaluating the implementation or dissemination of IT security tools, procedures, or practices to protect information assets. Developing security procedures governing the planning or delivery of services for an organization. Documenting experience: IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
