About the position: This position will be assigned to the Tinker Information, Ticket and Travel (ITT) Office.
This position is a Regular Full-Time position with guaranteed hours and benefits.
This position will require occasional travel.
Duties
Plans for and provides oversight for commercial reservations, ticketing service for airlines, hotels, cruises, vehicles, tour packages, amusement parks and other related recreational trips. May supervise up to two staff members. Provides clear and accurate guidance and coordination of leisure travel information and referral services for both individual and group customers. Works with co-workers in development of group tours both international and domestic areas for advertisement to the base populace through Information Ticket and Travel (ITT) brochures, Services monthly magazine, base weekly newspaper and web pages. Implements higher level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of ITT programs.
Coordinates ITT programs with off base recreational facilities and attractions to obtain the best possible price for ITT customers. Provides regular price and/or discount tickets to sporting events, theme parks and other recreational events. Prepares budget, analyzes financial results and revises budget as required. Responsible for establishing and maintaining an internal control system to preclude or minimizes the potential for fraud, waste and abuse in regard to ticket inventories and funds accountability. Receives, counts, verifies daily cash receipts and makes deposits. Prepares daily activity reports. Secures and displays information relating to commercial tours, cruises, vacation packages and amusement parks in support of individuals and groups traveling locally, nationwide and internationally. Responsible for IMPAC card charges and following proper processing procedures. Conducts end of month paperwork/reports. Provides accurate and timely information on trips, tickets and other travel opportunities to the Marketing Office for the weekly
newspaper, monthly magazine and web pages. Maintains a clean and orderly work environment and professional appearance. Performs general office duties. Responsible for work force management. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

- This position requires supervision experience or Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Manager experience.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Three years of progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work that has provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices; a thorough general knowledge of the goals, principles, methods and techniques of the broad field of recreation and a thorough understanding of understanding of the recreation and leisure interests and motivations of individuals and groups. Must have progressively responsible experience in a military or civilian recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the ITT specialty. Applicant must have experience coordinating travel arrangements, i.e. travel packages, condo, car, cruises, and airline reservations. General travel industry knowledge to include processing reservations using "Saber" software program or other comparable travel system as well as a basic knowledge of
computers are required. Must have experience in developing or administering a budget program.
Must have a minimum 1-year work experience in the Travel Industry. Must have a minimum of 1- year work experience within the MWR. Supervision experience or MWR Manager experience is required. Knowledge of budgeting, NAF financial management and planning is desired. Knowledge of the use of computers and a variety of software programs to include but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), Adobe Reader is desired. Ability to analyze and prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports related to work is desired. Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and administrative skills is desired. Must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing, and be able to read, speak and write English. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. May work an uncommon tour of duty to include special base events including working outside. Must satisfactorily complete a T1 Background Investigation.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
