The goals and objectives of the position are to enable the Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate's mission to enable war fighter capability through effectively and efficiently integrating nuclear weapons & system requirements with resources to deliver operational capability for the Air Delivered leg of the US Nuclear Deterrent Triad. This mission is accomplished in consonance with Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), United States Air Force (USAF) and Department of Defense (DoD) directives. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in working effectively with multiple DOD, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, and private industry organizations.
DUTIES:
Serve as program lead responsible for all nuclear certified B-52 modernization and sustainment efforts.
Participate in Integrated Product Team meetings to ensure nuclear certification requirements are included.
Coordinate with the Nuclear Certification Manager on existing and future certification requirements.
Represent the organization with all levels of management, including functional counterparts, HQ AFMC, HAF/A10, USAF MAJCOMs and US COCOMs, USAF System Program Offices, DOD and other federal agencies, HQ DOE/NNSA, DOE National Laboratories, industry partners and academia.
SKILLS
Knowledge of a wide range of advanced and qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of the product support strategy or improvement of complex acquisition and sustainment processes and systems; including knowledge of administrative laws, policies, regulations, applicable to acquisition and modification programs.
Knowledge of organizational goals and objectives and the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones; and of planning, programming, and executing budgets as well as forecasting long-term funding requirements.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, building consensus and coalitions, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with a variety of individuals and organizations as well as communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.

- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain a Top Secret and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
- Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Employee may be required to work overtime.
- 10+ years of experience in the nuclear enterprise and knowledge of DOE/DOD nuclear enterprise is desired.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Management is desired, a master’s degree or higher in management is highly desired.
- In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
- Highly desired: 10+ years of program management experience in all levels of DOD acquisition management (AandS, ACATI – III)
- This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
- The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. Employee is expected to meet Continuous Acquisition Education requirements.
- Science and Technology Manager or Systems Engineering Level III is required within 24 months of appointment.

2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process.
4. Skill to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of development and production, support of systems, subsystems, or equipment and to coordinate various aspects of systems acquisition such as engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration, test, and manufacturing.
5. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
