OIG is organized into seven operational units: the Immediate Office of the Inspector General, Office of the Counselor, Office of Audits and Evaluations, Office of Healthcare Inspections, Office of Investigations, Office of Management and Administration, and Office of Special Reviews. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 60 locations throughout the country.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14 level. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position. This position is in the Office of Special Reviews (OSR), which conducts administrative investigations and other reviews, and was created to increase the OIG's flexibility and capacity to promptly examine significant events and emergent issues not squarely within the scope of another OIG directorate. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Be a current member of a bar with a valid license to practice law in a state or territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Specialized experience for this GS-14 position is one year of experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position which has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes: Managing and providing subject matter expertise throughout all phases of the electronic discovery (e-discovery) lifecycle for project teams in the conduct of investigations, reviews, and litigation; AND Utilizing e-discovery platforms, such as Relativity, Nuix, and Microsoft Purview, to facilitate and perform collection, analysis, and production of electronically stored information (ESI); AND Advising and collaborating with project teams and technical staff on the use of e-discovery tools and strategies to evaluate the relevancy, adequacy, and defensibility of ESI, evidence, and facts in the conduct of investigations reviews, and litigation; AND Evaluating and making recommendations for an e-discovery program, including changes in response to new or emerging technologies and operational needs; AND Applying legal principles and e-discovery best practices in the daily administration of projects and plans. Specialized experience for this GS-13 position is one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position which has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes: Planning and implementing comprehensive e-discovery strategies and workflows for project teams in the conduct of investigations, reviews, and litigation; AND Utilizing e-discovery platforms and tools, such as Relativity, Nuix, and Microsoft Purview to perform the collection, analysis, and production of electronically stored information (ESI); AND Coordinating with project teams and technical staff on the use of e-discovery tools to evaluate the relevancy and defensibility of ESI, evidence, and facts in the conduct of investigations, reviews, and litigation; AND Applying legal principles and e-discovery best practices in the daily administration of projects and plans.

Education

Must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association at the time of graduation (a copy of your transcript will be required if selected).

A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to Department of Education Accreditation page.
