About the Position: This is a permanent position with Army Clinic Moncrief.
Moncrief Army Health Clinic is located on Fort Jackson, South Carolina and is part of the 82 square mile military installation located adjacent to the state capital of Columbia.
Duties
Ability to troubleshoot, maintain and install heating ventilation and air conditioning equipment.
Ability to repair, maintain and install electrical wiring systems and components.
Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading).
Ability to install, repair and maintain basic plumbing systems.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. I perform full range of an Maintenance Mechanic without more than normal supervision performing maintenance and repair of various items installed, such as medical equipment, kitchen equipment, power systems, heating and air maintenance, and electrical wiring systems and components. I use a variety of hand and power shop tools such as hand tools (pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, pencils, etc.), power tools (Drills, Impact drivers, impact wrenches, multi-meters, etc) to accomplish repairs, replacement, or creation of projects. I work with a variety of gases to include medical gases and compressed air. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Efforts: Works in close and cramped positions, lifting, climbing, stooping, crawling, and bending.
Working Conditions: Works inside and outside as required. Subject to electric shock, burns from steam and hot water pipe, bruises when working between floor and ceiling or other close places. Is exposed to contagious disease wards, unpleasant odors, etc. Use hand tools of several trades, power tools,shop tools, and is responsible for safe and proper use of tools and equipment; also for observing safety rules and regulations to prevent injury and accidents. Subject to high and low temperature and extreme noise situations. Works in confined and permit-required spaces. Works directly with caustic solutions, fibrous materials (some containing fiberglass), raw sewage, and occasionally assists in high-voltage repairs and maintenance.
