You will serve as a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANNING DEPARTMENT of NAVAL STATION.
A Cost-of-Living Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.
Duties
You will assess emergency program strategies (e.g., objectives, deadlines, goals) to determine resources needed.
You will manage an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during natural or man-made disasters to coordinate efforts and service delivery with local and federal agencies.
You will brief emergency management staff, organization staff, and local municipalities on day-to-day situations to keep them informed of emergency situations.
You will evaluate emergency operations plans to determine the need to reallocate resources.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position requires the following FEMA Independent Study Courses: IS-100, IS-200, IS-300, IS-400, IS-775, IS-700 and IS-800.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and implementing emergency plans, directives, and procedures; 2) Developing training exercises and drills to practice emergency response techniques; 3) Determining required budgeting and resources for emergency programs; and 4) Evaluating an organization's ability to deal with vulnerabilities, emergency situations, and hazards effectively.
