Duties
The incumbent serves as the Team Lead and senior Subject Matter Expert for the Technical Publications Team, Publications Production & Distribution Section, Technical Information Management Branch. This individual is responsible for setting team goals, tasking daily work assignments, monitoring and measuring team metrics, meeting customer requirements and timelines, and overseeing contractor work efforts for a team of five individuals. The incumbent is also responsible for the evaluation, issuance, maintenance, distribution and preparation of technical publications and amendments to all naval engineering technical and electronics plans; the retirement and storage of technical publications.

Qualifications
Candidates must show successful completion of a full 4-year course of study that meets all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in engineering or related fields, OR, Four years of experience that provided a knowledge of the basic principles, theories, practices, techniques, and terminology of naval engineering; an understanding of the standard methods, procedures, and techniques of research and analysis in the naval engineering field. Such experience must have been equivalent to that which would have been gained through a 4-year college curriculum,OR,A combination of education and experience described above.Additional Experience Requirements: In addition to meeting the basic requirements listed above, candidates must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal government. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.Examples of specialized experience would include: analyzing and organizing miscellaneous engineering technical information or materials; knowledge of printing, publishing and distribution requirements; gathering information from a wide variety of sources; planning, organizing and assisting team study work and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations of proposals involving substantial resources that require extensive changes in established procedures or may be in conflict with the desires of the activity. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
