This position is located in the Web, Marketing, and Communications Division (WMC), Office of Patent Information Resources (OPIR), Office of Information Technology for Patents (OITP), Office of the Commissioner for Patents, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This position is responsible for the design and creation of a wide range of visual information materials related to various programs and initiatives for Patents stakeholders.

The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. This position is telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy.

Qualifications
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized Experienceis experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service.
GS-12:
For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-11 or equivalent.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
1)Provides support in the design, production and communication of visual materials.
2) Assist in applying various visual arts and/or design methods, techniques, processes and/or procedures.
3) Prepares routine presentations and other visual communications to convey information.
GS-13:
For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-12 or equivalent.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
1)Independently design and develop a wide range of visual materials for publication, exhibits and/or presentations.
2)Knowledge of a variety of methods, techniques and materials used in the design and production of visual products.
3)Ability to plan and/or lead visual production projects.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education may not be substituted at the GS-12 and GS-13 grade levels.
