About the Position: Located in Central New Jersey, Burlington County, Fort Dix is 72 miles southwest of New York City, 34 miles northeast of Philadelphia. Close to the Jersey shore, Fort Dix is also within short driving distance of a wide variety of leisure activities, cultural centers, museums, historical locations and fishing!
Duties
Serve as a Supply Technician performing stock record accounting for ammunition.
Receive training ammunition forecasts that reflect ammunition requirements.
Receive unit-initiated requests for issue and live/residue turn in of ammunition.
Schedule and participate in the quarterly ammunition inventories to verify the general condition, quantity, and location of stocked ammunition.
Compute and maintain information such as receipts, issues and transfers, expenditures, current inventory, and similar data.
Prepare a variety of monthly and quarterly ammunition related reports.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Subject to a tour of duty to cover a seven-day work operation.
- Position will require occasional evening and/or holiday hours, to include mandatory overtime as mission dictates.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.

Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience which includes: 1) processing supply transactions to include adding/deleting stock, posting issues and turn-ins, and transfers; 2) resolving inventory discrepancies through research and analysis; and 3) maintaining supply files. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
