Duties

Provides expert advice and technical guidance for operational and contingency plans supporting OSD, Combatant Commands and Military Services missions worldwide. Coordinates policy directives and procedures for the Major Subordinate Command (MSC) readiness reporting, supportability analysis and logistics support to Combatant Commander Operations Plans (OPLANS) Advises the Commander, DLA HQ J3 and DLA Regional Commanders regarding Class IX and Class IIIP logistics planning in support of Combatant Commander and service component war planning and contingency execution efforts. Assists in maintaining operations of the Aviation Logistics Operations Center, and serves as a liaison for the purpose of the Command Team during normal duty hours. Ensures proper handling and storage of classified material and security procedures for national security, operational security, and facility inspections. Consolidates, coordinates, and prepares documents and resources for multiple routine and critical briefings for the DLA Aviation Commander and leadership within DLA HQ as well as Joint and Military Service Commands. Researches and investigates new and improved business practices to ensure mission accomplishment.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Performing business requirements and logistics program analysis to measure program accomplishments. Researching and investigating new or improved business and management practices to support mission activities. Monitoring and evaluating processes and procedures to ensure all controls and regulatory requirements are accomplished. Following and/or implementing emergency and operational contingency management plans and procedures. Monitoring Readiness in regards to Operational, Contingency or Emergency planning; Advising Leadership on wartime Operational Readiness and Planning to effectively meet requirements. Advising Leadership regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
