Duties

You will safely and reliably perform receipt, segregation, storage, issue, inspection, inventory, and maintain accounts for AAE and inert Non AAE shipments. You will utilize the Navy Ordnance Information System-Retail (OIS-R), and Serena Foreign Ordnance Inventory System (SFOIS). You will evaluate and determine appropriate packing methods and materials for explosive Hazardous Material pursuant to global transportation via commercial or military; land, sea or air freight transportation. You will be responsible for creating, preparing, and certifying shipping documentation, such as hazardous declarations, for the movement of explosive Hazardous Material on and off the base.

• This is a bargaining unit position.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For the NT-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-3 (GS-9/10 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and evaluating ordnance transportation programs to eliminate potential hazards by ensuring proper safety and compliance for storage of explosive ordnance materials. For the NT-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-02 (GS-05/08 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing ordnance transportation programs to ensure the proper safety and compliance of storing and shipping ordnance materials and equipment for an organization. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For the NT-03:

Successful completion of a master's degree in a field directly related to the position being filled.

Successfully completed two full years of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled.
OR

For the NT-04:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
