At the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), we are at the forefront in preventing and detecting terrorist financing, money laundering, and other financial crime. Serve at the nation's financial intelligence unit and protect the United States financial system from criminals and terrorist financiers.

Duties

This position is located in FinCEN's Office of the Director. As a Senior Advisor, you will: Advise the Director, Deputy Director, and/or staff on anti -money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) policy, regulatory, investigative, and/or enforcement matters. Steer and monitor the progress of FinCEN's projects and programs impacting approaches to combat money laundering, its predicate offenses, terrorism financing, and other forms of illicit financial activity. Implement and improve processes that facilitate the development of comprehensive solutions to Bureau-wide priority issues and concerns. Exercise authority as a senior official to formulate, determine, and influence FinCEN's policies, programs, and procedures on behalf of the Director and Deputy Director. Work with the Chief of Staff to coordinate front office activities and, assist the Director and/or Deputy Director with tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Independently providing exhaustive technical advice/consulting support to senior level officials specific to organizational objectives related to AML/CFT or sanctions; AND - Implementing initiatives for accomplishing organizational objectives; OR - Guiding the evaluation and measurement of organizational achievements The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
