About the Position: Serve as a Supervisor of the Help Desk personnel; responsible for managing the activities of Information Technology (IT) professionals, technical, and administrative subordinate employees within the division and provide technical oversight of several contract personnel engaged in the various functions of the branch.
Duties
Evaluate and discuss problems and procedures with the customers and recommends improvements.
Analyze processes and procedures to recommend improvements.
Coordinate action and correspondence with every major element whose operations will be affected by
Evaluate impact on internal and external changers that have interrelationships between functions.
Facilitate the activities of employees and technical oversight of several contract employees engaged in the various functions.
Justify overall budget estimates for all branch expenses making periodic revisions and providing for control of expenditures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess and maintain Security + and a local operating system or network Computing Environment (CE) certification.
- Position designated as IT-I (AR 25-2) and IAT-II. Required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M.
- May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

- A 1-year supervisory probationary period may be required if not already completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: developing customer support procedures and standards, monitoring activities on assigned technology areas with the team and external contractors; develop program plans for the execution of assigned programs and recommend solution to technology issues to improve customer support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
Education
