About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command Mission Support Command ACOFS, G1 Special Programs Division People Soft Branch.

Duties

Serves as the official Mail Manager (OMM) and Motor Vehicle Operator (MVO) within the HQ INSCOM Mail and Distribution Center. Assure compliance with the program’s goals and objectives and reports known or suspected postal offenses (rifling, theft, destruction) to supervisor. Maintains liaison with U.S. Postal Service (USPS). Provide technical leadership and direction to assigned personnel.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 of AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, must successfully pass a urinalysis for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 (See Additional Information)
  • Must be qualified to operate Government motor vehicles in accordance with current standards and guidelines, and must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state issued civilian driver's license.
  • Pre-employment physical is required for this position.
  • Must be able to handle and lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds with repeated walking, bending and climbing.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 15% or less of the time.
  • All INSCOM staff may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Meet USPS and DoD requirements for the handling of sensitive materials.
  • Never removed for cause from work in a postal, mail, or other communications activity.
