THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD2240P01 and is part of the TN 134th ARW, Air National Guard.

Duties
As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-13, you will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems. Review and analyze maintenance data; determines if criteria are sufficient to provide adequate test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; devises and recommends tests, procedural changes, or data corrections. Troubleshoot operational malfunctions and analyze system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data, Technical Orders, schematic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, data analysis, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests. Recommend methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, initiates material deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data and assists in design changes as necessary. Conducts aircrew debriefing to determine the nature of system malfunctions. May upload and download chaff/flare dispensers. May be required to perform additional duties such as structural fire-fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, serve as a security guard, remove snow, load and handle munitions, launch/recover and service aircraft, operate heavy equipment, maintain facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

- To initially qualify and prior to appointment, an applicant’s military medical record must indicate a completed and current medical physical, medical profile, a cleared drug test; and, normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123.
- To initially qualify and as a condition of continued dual status technician employment, must have the capability to lift, carry, push, or otherwise handle items weighing up to 70 pounds.
- To initially qualify and as a condition of continued dual status technician employment, must have the physical capability to stand, climb, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and stoop over extended periods of time.
- To initially qualify and as a condition of continued dual status technician employment, must possess a valid state driver’s license to operate government motor vehicles, for the state in which he or she lives or is principally employed.
- As a condition of continued dual status technician employment, the employee must complete the hazmat certification within six months of employment and complete hazmat recertification every two years.
- As a condition of continued dual status technician employment, the employee must maintain the position’s mandatory AFSC skill level and continue on-the-job proficiency requirements.
- As a condition of continued dual status technician employment, the employee must maintain local network access IAW AFMANs 33-152, User Responsibilities and Guidance for Information Systems and 33-282, Computer Security.
- Preplacement Medical Requirements: Selectee will be required to undergo medical testing, at the expense of the government, prior to beginning employment. Medical tests are used to determine fitness and eligibility for employment.
- Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: The applicant must have at least 24 months of specialized experiences working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-13, and must possess the craftsmen knowledge and skills level as required for planning, accomplishing, and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program. Experiences included the ability to plan and complete assigned mechanic shop work. Skilled in completing tasks and works well with others to complete the work. Skilled and knowledgeable of the required and appropriate maintenance procedures to ensure the accurate and efficient completion of work activities. Experienced in estimating manpower, equipment and material requirements involved to finish assigned work or special projects. Experienced in devising and maintaining all program plans and records. Skilled in delivering surveillance and troubleshooting techniques. Capable of independently determining levels of maintenance and necessary repair procedures. Skilled in planning, organizing, and directing shop maintenance programs/procedures. Experienced in determining various approaches, methods, and courses-of-action required to effectively and efficiently accomplish the mission work. Skilled and articulate in providing recommendations to supervisors in regard to personnel actions, such as performance appraisals, awards, position descriptions changes, disciplinary actions, or leave requests. Skilled in implementing environmental safety requirements and identifying equipment handling concerns that resulted in observed safety and housekeeping practices. Experiences included compliance with wearing the appropriate safety equipment and following pertinent safety precautions.
Education
Education Requirement for ANG Dual Status Technician FWS 2610 positions:
1. Award of the compatible Air Force Specialty Code, Craftsman Seven Skill Level; Journeyman Five Skill Level; or, the Apprentice Three Skill Level, with the position's compatible unit position assignment and
2. High School Diploma: Completion of high school courses in physics, algebra, trigonometry, and computer principles is desirable. Higher academic college courses and degrees that are aligned within the FWS Series 2610 type of work tasks are also desirable.
The applicant's educational-degree study program or specific academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. An applicant must demonstrate the identified specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors) to qualify for a FWS 2610 position as identified by its applicable grade.
