This position is located in Immigration Records and Identity Services, Verification Division, Los Angeles Verification Operations Center and Headquarters, Front Office.
As a Mission Support Specialist, you will coordinate and perform a variety of administrative and management tasks, develop surveys, charts and graphs, manage property inventory, and represent the office with vendors and organizations..
Duties
The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
Serve as an administrative liaison and consultant for local office leadership.
Analyze the effects of changes in administrative laws and regulations as they pertain to management services and identify and extract additional pertinent information.
Analyze data to identify problems, significant factors, and trends.
Use Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, to prepare final reports, briefings, presentations, and databases for supervisors or managers.
Work in a creative and innovative environment, where you will participate in the development of solutions and efficiencies to improve division administrative operations and improve customer service.
Independently completes a wide variety of administrative assignments such as Budget/Finance, Recruitment and Staffing, Facilities and Property Management, Payroll and Time and Attendance, Training, Safety and Security, Procurement, and Travel.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 06/26/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 06/26/2024.

GS-09: You qualify at the GS-09 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Collecting data and submitting project papers and/or final reports for managerial review.
Preparing administrative documents in a clear concise manner for supervisory review.
Using various software (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite) to complete administrative tasks and projects as assigned. OR
You may substitute successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or at least two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field related to the work of this position.
GS-11: You qualify at the GS-11 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Reviewing newly issued regulations or directives to ascertain impact on administrative program area.
Collecting and analyzing data, and making recommendations through distributed reports.
Maintaining collaborative working relationships with others to resolve conflicts.
Completing administrative assignments related to Budget/Finance, Recruitment and Staffing, Facilities and Property Management, Payroll and Time and Attendance, Training, Safety and Security, or Procurement related initiatives. OR
You may substitute successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field related to the work of this position.
GS-12: You qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Providing strategic advice and planning to local office leadership and management.
Leading an administrative team or project to achieve mission goals.
Communicating in written and oral form with internal and external stakeholders.
Reviewing and updating administrative guidance, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
Coordinating administrative projects or assignments such as Budget/Finance, Recruitment and Staffing, Facilities and Property Management, Payroll and Time and Attendance, Training, Safety and Security, or Procurement related initiatives
