This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence and Analysis (l&A), Field Intelligence Directorate (FID).
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Headquarters Intelligence Operations Specialist and support regional field intelligence activities.
Duties
The incumbent is responsible for enabling field operations and national-level intelligence activities through managing associated intelligence programs and activities, and coordinating DHS support to I&A field officers deployed to fusion centers, or with other federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial (FSLTT), including other DHS Components. The Intelligence Operations Specialist enables nation-wide field officers to operate and share critical and actionable intelligence and information with FSLTT and Private Sector (FSLTTP) partners, other DHS Components, and other members of the Intelligence Community (IC). The assignment involves problem solving and resolution, planning and coordination with numerous Federal (including DHS components and the Intelligence Community (IC)) and SLTTP partners, and intelligence program management. The incumbent executes a wide range of relationship building to enable field-based intelligence and information sharing, analysis, and collection and reporting related to, and in support of, homeland security.

Requirements
- Must be able to hold a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters Drug-Free Workplace Program.
- Overtime may be required in response to a significant event.
- Overnight Travel of 1-5 nights per month may be required.
- Individual must sign a Mobility Agreement
Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.
You must have one year of specialized experience that has provided the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
For this position, specialized experience is defined as supporting ongoing or emerging substantive information sharing and dissemination activities in any established specialty area. Such experience may include conducting a variety of complex assignments within his/her area of responsibility and conducting and directing in-depth research and analysis in support of homeland security. Additionally, such experience could be gained from:
Working with State and Local partners to create and information-sharing environment between them and the National Intelligence/Law Enforcement community.
Providing processes to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in terrorist operational tactics.
Providing direct intelligence support to field-based personnel engaged in intelligence and information sharing activities.
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may be considered for the GS-9 grade.
