This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA PACIFIC-DISA PACIFIC FIELD OFFICE ALASKA (PCA).
Duties
Leads the DISA PAC Alaska Quality Assurance (QA) Program. Oversees commissioning and performance evaluations (PE) for Wide Band Satellite Communication, Defense Red Switch Network, and technical control capabilities for DISN facilities in Alaska.
Manages all DISA PAC Alaska Field Office QA training to include training plan development, oversight of evaluator trainees, and evaluator certification package creation and submission to QA certification boards.
Ensures DISN service meets performance levels of DISA Circulars, Instructions, and Service Level Agreements. Identifies operating deficiencies, recommends corrective actions to improve performance, and provides technical assistance to customers.
Provides technical guidance and direction for DISN systems test and acceptance in Alaska. Systems include IP Router Network, Wide Band SATCOM, and fiber optic transmission. Reviews final test plan and test results for commission of new capabilities.
Serves on DISA PAC Alaska technical assistance teams. Assists in identifying and correcting complex problems related to DISN subsystems. Prepares associated reports to document findings and provide recommendations based on these activities.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience designing, implementing, or managing Information Technology or Telecommunications Systems using routing systems such as high speed Optical Transport or Internet Protocol (IP) / Multi-Protocol Label Switch (MPLS) networks in a service provider or enterprise environment to ensure optimum readiness of an information network.
