This position is part of the Y-12 Field Office, Department of Energy. As a Information Technology Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight, coordination, and support for sophisticated and technologically advanced IT and telecommunication systems for YFO and contractors across a large geographic area. You will serve as the point of contact for YFO related to enterprise architecture issues and processes with a focus towards addressing and satisfying OMB Circular A-130.

Qualifications
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
In addition to the basic requirements listed above, a qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [enter grade] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Experience in providing technical oversight, coordination, and support in information technology field; AND/OR
Experience providing technical oversight, expertise and support for a federal agency, contractors, and customers across a large geographic area; AND
Experience in establishing and overseeing project execution of federal prime contracts and/or subcontract work performed under prime contracts
Examples of Specialized Experience:
Experience in IT systems design, system controls, and project management techniques to perceive vulnerabilities.
Experience in the application of principles, procedures, concepts, and methodology used in management of information technology.
Experience making recommendations to senior leadership concerning overall plans and proposals for complex IT project, related to ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and timely resource provisioning.
Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Information Resources Strategy and Planning, Oral Communication, Problem Solving, and Project Management
