This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Office of Child Care (OCC), Region 8 Office located in Denver, Colorado.

Duties

Supervises regional childcare staff, providing administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the regional childcare staff. Manages the planning, directing and coordination of all activities of the regional office in accordance with priorities and directives. Analyzing grantee compliance with program requirements by reviewing grantee plans and other means, and negotiating with grantees to effectuate compliance. Representing the OCC Regional Office in conferences, consultations, meetings, work groups, and other public appearances.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic AND Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below. Basic Requirement: You must meet one of the items listed below (A, B, or C): A. Possess a 4-year bachelor's or higher degree in behavioral or social science from an accredited college or university; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Must provide transcripts) B. Possess a combination of education and experience -- that provided you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Must provide transcript) C. Possess four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Minimum Qualifications: GS-14: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing 3 of the 4 duties listed below: Evaluating child care program operations and policies to advise leadership on approval, implementation and/or improving initiatives; Collaborating with government agencies on child care programs at the local, state, territory and/or national levels; Providing leadership and authority to staff in the field of child care or early childhood development.
