Position will initially be located in the Technical Support and Administrative Team (TSAT), Division of Operating Reactor Safety, Region I, but will later be reassigned to a Projects Branch to support assigned resident sites.
Supervisor is Marc Ferdas, TSAT Team Leader.
This position is in the Bargaining Unit with the National Treasury Employees Union, Chapter 208.
This position is not subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure or Security Ownership Restriction reporting requirements.
Duties
The successful candidate will serve as the principal administrative assistant to one or more branch chiefs of the Division of Operating Reactor Safety, performing the full range of administrative duties. Such duties include but are not limited to:

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GG-06 level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: Demonstrated experience performing a wide range of administrative and secretarial functions, such as preparing and proofreading correspondence, scheduling appointments, maintaining supervisor's calendar, arranging travel, etc. Experience in the use of office automation tools such as Microsoft Office 365 Applications, automated time keeping system, automated travel system, etc. A description of how you possess the specialized experience as well as how you meet the qualifications desired in an ideal candidate should be addressed in your resume.The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated skill to meet and deal tactfully and effectively with individuals at all levels, to exchange information, discuss administrative matters, and to gain understanding and cooperation in matters related to correspondence. Ability to review and discuss results tactfully and constructively for correspondence composed by others.
Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and correspondence procedures sufficient to prepare correspondence of an administrative nature and review outgoing material for correctness, proper format, and completeness.
Demonstrated proficiency with microcomputer-based word processing applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), appointment calendars, emails, and other database applications that are used to maintain automated tracking systems.
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in handling multiple assignments with competing priorities, often under considerable pressure to meet deadlines.
