This position is located in the Division of Resource Management (DRM), Region I.  The supervisor is Mary Walsh, Director, DRM. This position is Non-Bargaining Unit. This position is not subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure and Security Ownership Restriction reporting requirements. All NRC employees are encouraged to apply.

Duties

The successful candidate will serve as the principle Administrative Assistant to the Director, Division of Resource Management, who reports directly to the Regional/Deputy Regional Administrator.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.  SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: Experience that demonstrates thorough knowledge and familiarity with Federal administrative policies, procedures and software programs to properly prepare and review outgoing correspondence, make travel arrangements, prepare travel requests and vouchers, complete time and leave cards, arrange meetings, maintain calendars, manage ticket tracking, and perform other general administrative duties.  Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office365 Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required. Knowledge of NRC systems (HCM Cloud, ADAMS, and eTravel, etc.) is preferred. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Demonstrated skill to meet and deal tactfully and effectively with individuals at all levels, to exchange information, discuss administrative matters, and to gain understanding and cooperation in matters related to correspondence. Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and correspondence procedures sufficient to prepare correspondence of an administrative nature and review outgoing material for correctness, proper format and completeness. Demonstrated proficiency with microcomputer based word processing applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), appointment calendars, emails, and other database applications that are used to maintain automated tracking systems. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in handling multiple assignments with competing priorities, often under considerable pressure, to meet deadlines. Demonstrated initiative and ability to provide leadership, administrative support, and customer service in a variety of areas (e.g. workload management, time and attendance reporting, security, records management, travel scheduling, personnel, etc. A description of how you possess the specialized experience as well as how you meet the qualifications desired in an ideal candidate should be addressed in your resume.
