This position is located with the New Mexico State Office. The selectee will provide substantiative administrative assistance and support to the state.
This is not a remote position.
Duties
Generate and update briefing charts for use in meetings, e.g., on the status of major projects and programs.
Prepare written correspondence, narrative reports and related materials.
Support the development of staffing plans, employee development, and organizational design by tracking such data as turnover/hiring.
Set up meetings and conferences, both locally and at remote locations. Prepare participant invitations, track participation, establishes seating arrangements.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Specialized Experience:
GS-06: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Experience planning and managing the office's daily administrative functions, maintaining automated systems to record, reconcile, validate, and track data; experience gathering and compiling available data and information for aspects of a program and reports findings to a higher level employee; and experience monitoring and reviewing established administrative procedures and program operations and assisting in the preparation of memoranda, reports and charts: using word processing, spreadsheet and database software to prepare documents and to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data. There is no substitution of education at this grade level.
GS-07: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates experience with answering the phone, greeting/directing/accompanying visitors to the office, maintaining organization charts, records from office records; experience preparing and/or maintaining records of requests for personnel action and personnel action status, scheduling meetings and conferences, maintaining calendar for senior staff, making travel arrangements, preparing requests, and maintaining travel records. Experience tracking travel expenditures, and preparing/assisting in the preparation of claims/vouchers. Experience serving as an office point of contact for administrative and operational issues, maintaining records of office equipment inventory, preparing time and attendance and leave records, preparing reports on leave usage, and serving as a master time keeper. Experience maintaining office supply inventory/records, preparing orders for supplies, track expenditures and costs.

Education
There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-7 grade level.
