About the Position: The Management & Program Assistant (OA) applies thorough knowledge of the organization mission, functions, and services to support program administration by assisting in the development of the operating budget, assisting with fiscal and resource management, and managing overall office operations.

Duties
Participate in all fiscal functions, assisting in the formulation and execution of operating budgets, assessment of resources, and maintenance and control of multiple facility accounts.
Prepare and/or reviews all funding documents (e.g., purchase requests, contracts, work orders, travel orders and vouchers, credit card invoices) for appropriate cost code and other pertinent information.
Provide division support for conferences, secures vehicles for transportation, and ensures office supplies are maintained for mission essential efforts.
Serve as the senior timekeeper to review time and attendance records, and to resolve issues with the payroll representative.
Serve on various internal teams and committees responsible for process improvements.
Assist in the training coordination for administrative, professional, and technical courses offered through both government and non-government training facilities.
Perform a variety of administrative tasks to support the Division Chief and staff including planning employee actions, monitoring employee-related suspense actions (e.g., not-to-exceed dates), and award Justifications, disciplinary actions, etc.
Use a personal computer, printer and peripherals to perform recurring and nonstandard office automation duties.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the formulation of an operating budget, preparing correspondence in support of various administrative duties, generating reports by utilizing automated software programs, and assisting in coordinating training for a variety of courses. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration or Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Qualified Typist: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
