THIS IS AN ARIZONA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION
This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA).
This position is part of the AZ JFHQ ARMY, Arizona National Guard under Position Description Number PDT5701400.
Duties
This position is located with the JFHQ DCSG1 Plans and Actions Branch in Phoenix, AZ. The purpose of the position is to provide support in the administration of Military & Family Readiness Program (SFRP) services for the Army National Guard within the State Family Program. This is achieved by performing assignments designed to provide familiarity with the Family Program, community services, effective relations with supporting social service and emergency organizations, recruit and train volunteers, promote resilience and financial literacy through targeted life skills training, and the development of human resources program referral networks.
Requirements
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer Program.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver’s license.
- NOTE: Individual selected will receive an Indefinite Appointment and may be converted to permanent based on availability of funds or position no longer being encumbered.
- Irregular (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial vehicles to perform temporary duty assignments.
- This position is subject to rotating shifts, night shifts and weekends or holidays.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 24 months specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures. Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. Experience with Family Assistance, Child and Youth Program, Referral, Volunteer Management. Pre-deployment, deployed, and post-deployment phases of the Service members deployment.
