This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters (DHS-HQ), Office of Health Security (OHS), Total Workforce Protection Directorate (TWPD), Organizational Wellness Division (OWD). OHS is the principal medical, workforce health and safety and public health authority for DHS. The primary purpose of this position is to perform administrative functions related to worklife program activities throughout DHS Headquarters. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Duties

As a Worklife Program Specialist, GS-0301-13, your typical work assignments may include the following: Serves as the lead in implementing a comprehensive worklife program across multiple DHS HQ offices. Continuously promotes worklife services and activities through a sustained communications strategy and coordinates with OHS leadership to ensure timeliness of messaging. Develops short- and long-term goals that align with Employee and Family Readiness Council (EFRC) priorities and TWPD initiatives. Responsible for a full spectrum of OPM- and DHS-mandated worklife services and employee programs, which may include but are not limited to the following: workforce health and wellness, family and dependent care, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), lactation support, volunteer community service, and peer-to-peer programs. Qualifications

Specialized Experience To qualify for the GS-13 grade level you must possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level in Federal Service or private/public sector equivalent experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as: Experience knowledge of Organizations HQ worklife program administration in order to provide expert advice, guidance and to manage and facilitate high level actions for all aspects of the worklife program to include administration, reporting, data analysis, review, and evaluation functions. Experience knowledge of Federal, Organization and Departments worklife priorities and commitments in order to facilitate high level program management functions and to ensure proper reporting of program activity. Experience in providing expert advice and guidance to ensure the implementation of effective strategies and solutions surrounding the work/life program results and activities. NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement. Note: Current or former Federal employees MUST submit a copy of their SF-50 Form which shows competitive service appointment ("position occupied" block 34 on the SF-50 should show a "1"), tenure group (block 24 should show a 1 or 2), grade, and salary.
