About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Forces Command, USA Joint Readiness Training Center, Operations Group, Fort Johnson LA 71459.
Duties
Serves as the Command Security Manager and Primary Staff Officer for Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) Operations Group.
Directs, plans, implementation, administration and enforcement of the overall security program for JRTC Operations Group and subordinate activities.
Serves as the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Program Manager.
Directs, monitors, and enforces Information Security, Physical Security, Industrial Security, and Foreign Disclosure policy and practices throughout the activity and JRTC.
Responsible for planning, implementing, administering, and enforcing of policy governing the Personnel Security Program.
Provides technical and administrative supervision within assigned division in organization.
Maintains frequent and extensive contacts with program managers at all the higher headquarters levels, other security agencies and contractor facilities.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required 25% or less of the time.
- This position requires obtaining the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within first two years of employment.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized experience: Overseeing intelligence-related security programs that includes two or more of the following: Information Security, Personnel Security, Industrial Security, Physical Security, Foreign Disclosure, Communications Security, Intelligence support to Force Protection, and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
