You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS) in the COMMUNICATIONS & INFOR SYS DIV of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND.

Duties

You will conduct in-depth analysis in the areas of system architecture, network engineering and data storage. You will provide regular statistics to support the ongoing Cybersecurity management of vulnerabilities and compliance for all Maritime Operations Center (MOC) systems. You will plan and manage upgrades to hardware and operating system software and maintain system configuration documentation. You will support the Maritime Operations Center (MOC) systems including the GCCS-M/J operations in a capacity of project planning development. You will ensure that internal security standards are maintained on all MOC systems including GCCS-M/J servers and workstations. You will maintain availability of all MOC/Tactical systems and support systems. You will track usage metrics of MOC systems and support systems. You will manage the regular vulnerability scanning process and procedures for all MOC systems. You will lead other IT specialist in performance of the design, development, testing, implementation, administration, maintenance, and life cycle support of the Navy tactical systems supporting the USFFC MOC.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (SYS ADMIN), proficiency level (INTERMEDIATE) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the 12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying expert knowledge of shore Maritime Operations Center (MOC) systems, databases, and supported standard navy software and hardware architectures. Experience troubleshooting logic and ability to review network diagrams to guide team troubleshooting efforts. Experience utilizing the capabilities and limitations of advanced computer equipment architectures and operating system environments for UNIX, Solaris, and Windows. Experience applying expert knowledge of MOC/Tactical systems to manage the enterprise-wide implementation of existing and new MOC networks and systems, managing life cycle management process; leading teams to review systems modernization plans. I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
