Duties

You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing fuel storage and distribution systems. You will inspect fuel receiving, storage and distribution facilities to detect and correct leaks, corrosions, faulty fittings, and malfunctions. You will maintain an equipment identification program by labeling and numbering all equipment and referencing each piece of equipment to a Standard Operating Procedures Manual. You will receive store, transfers and issue liquid petroleum fuels, liquid and waste oils. You will inspect electrical wiring, switches and controls for safe-operating condition, grounding and adjustment.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to perform common tasks demonstrated through experience working under normal supervision maintains and repairs fuel storage and distribution systems using hand and power tools; inspects fuel storage and distribution facilities to detect and correct leakage; disassembles, adjusts, aligns and calibrates gauges and meters or replaces them; removes and installs equipment; receives, stores, transfers and issues liquid petroleum liquids, lubes, liquid and waste oils; operates and maintains various types of pumps and other equipment used in receipt and issue of bulk petroleum products; and inspects receipt of product type for correct quantity.
