You will serve as a Fuel Distribution Systems Mechanic of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF.
Duties
You will maintain and repair fuel storage and distribution systems, using hand and power tools and testing instruments.
You will inspect fuel receiving, storage, and distribution facilities to detect and correct leakage, corrosion, faulty fittings, and malfunction of mechanical units, meters, and gauges.
You will perform test work on fuel pumping, filtering and hardware systems for RDT and E product tests and examine pumping systems for leaks and repairs.
You will receive, store, transfer and issue liquid petroleum fuels, lubes, liquid and waste oils.
You will operate and maintain various types of pumps and other equipment used in the receipt and issue of bulk petroleum products.
You will inspect receipt of product for quantity and type, water and other visible contamination.
Requirements

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision
- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a valid Class B CDL with Tank and HAZMAT Endorsements

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Fuel Distribution Systems Mechanic as demonstrated by experience, working under normal supervision, utilizing the knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical principles and a working knowledge of electrical controls and devices to repair and maintain fuel distribution systems and their components to perform work which includes inspecting fuel receiving, storage, and distribution facilities to detect and correct leakage, corrosion, faulty fittings, malfunction of mechanical units, meters, and gauges; Inspecting electrical wiring, switches, and controls; Lubricating and repacking valves; Lubricating pumps; Replacing gaskets and seals; Replacing meters and gauges; Reading and working from blueprints; Maintaining records of inspections and repairs.
