You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL) in the Public Works Office of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND MARIANAS.
This position is also subject to a Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) currently set at 12.04%. COLA is subject to change without notice.
Duties
You will review, assess and resolve, complex and diverse utilities equipment and system problems.
You will provide advice and solutions, and assist on technical matters requiring extensive knowledge of utility operations and maintenance practices.
You will install instrumentation to monitor utility system operations to identify specific problems and make recommendations for problem resolution.
You will operate various computer aided engineering design programs or tools, produce work orders, and review and verify the accuracy of as-built drawings.
You will provide technical assistance during utility construction projects and utility connections.

- This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
- You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialiszed experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing electrical engineering support services in areas of utilities operations and maintenance including electrical power generation plants, power distribution systems, steam and de-mineralized water plants and distribution systems.
