Duties
As a/an Supervisory Loan Specialist (Realty), you will:
Develop and issue national policies, programs, standards, procedures and guidelines to be used by participating Indian tribes, Tribally Designated Housing Entities (TDHEs), Native American and Alaska Native individuals and financial institutions, in the development, management, and monitoring of Indian and Alaska Native housing programs and loan guarantee programs.
Represent the office in meetings with visitors, members of Congress, other Federal, State and local groups, tribes, TDHEs, IHAs, tribal members and financial institutions in connection with the production and management of Indian housing as it relates to financial management, realty issues, property disposal, insurance and guarantee claims, or loan guarantee programs.
Initiate and/or conduct analytical, management and other technical studies for the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of current national policies and procedures in meeting program objectives, define problems and making recommendations for more effective administration of financial management, realty issues, property disposal, insurance and guarantee claims, or Indian housing and loan guarantee programs.
Formulate guidelines and provide technical advice, guidance and interpretation of complex policies and procedures on Native American programs to tribes, TDHEs, Headquarters, field offices, tribal groups, tribal members and financial institutions.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Leading the activities of an office, staff, or team which has the responsibility for providing technical assistance, training and drafting of guidelines on an array of programs; AND
- Collaborating with tribal leaders, federal, state or local agencies, or the private sector regarding program objectives; AND
- Analyzing policies and regulations and making recommendations; AND
- Recommending changes in an organizational structure, as well as, changes to short and long range goals, objectives, resources, and schedules to meet changes in programs, funding, or legislation.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
