This position is located in Field Operations Directorate, Office of Field Operations, Western Regional Office.
As an Operations Support Specialist, you will assist management in administering a variety of programs, policies and procedures, provide advice, guidance, and instruction concerning administrative programs that include complex and sensitive issues, and provide excellent customer service..
Duties
Serve as a liaison and consultative link with Headquarters Program Offices for Property, Human Resources, Budget, and similar administrative programs.
Develop, implement, interpret, and advise on administrative requirements.
Prepare project papers and staff reports and organize and deliver briefings to managers to promote understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
Review newly issued regulations or directives to ascertain their impact on program areas.
Conduct extensive research and analysis on administrative projects to gather and analyze relevant data, develop options, make recommendations, and provide comprehensive reports.
Monitor administrative activities and prepare a variety of reports utilizing various automated systems.
Analyze and evaluate effectiveness of complex and substantive management support and administrative systems, programs, and processes.
Participate in planning and development of business strategies and recommend internal procedural changes.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 06/21/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 06/21/2024.
GS-12: You qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Managing a variety of administrative programs (e.g., budget, personnel, travel, space, vehicle management, security and logistics);
Conducting independent evaluations of administrative functions and preparing study findings, recommendations, and reports;
Providing advice on a variety of administrative and management programs and procedures;
Performing liaison functions with other organizations
